Brazil reschedules repatriation flight to Beirut for this Saturday (5)

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) confirmed the rescheduling of the first repatriation flight for Brazilians leaving Lebanon. In a note signed jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Defense (MD), the FAB informed that takeoff from Beirut airport will take place tomorrow (5).

“The first flight operated by the Brazilian Air Force to repatriate Brazilians in Lebanon has been rescheduled to take off tomorrow, 5/10. Passengers included in the flight are receiving instructions for boarding at Beirut airport”, says the text.

The statement also reiterates the warning to follow the security guidelines of the embassy in Beirut and local authorities.

In the case of Brazilians who are able to bear the costs of leaving the country, the recommendation is that they try to leave Lebanese territory by their own means, as Beirut airport continues to operate for flights from the Lebanese company Middle East Airlines.

Earlier, for security reasons. The reason for the delay was that bombings in the vicinity of the airport where the aircraft will land intensified in the last few hours.

The KC-30 was expected to arrive in Beirut at around 10 am (Brasília time) this Friday (4). As a result, the expected return to Brazil, initially scheduled for Saturday morning, is also postponed by at least 24 hours.
