British Prime Minister Liz Truss announces resignation

73views

British Prime Minister Liz Truss announced her resignation on October 20.

She served as prime minister for only 45 days.

Truss’ tenure as head of government was the shortest in British history.

How Truss announced her resignation

The head of the British government made an address in front of her residence at 10 Downing Street. The address was broadcast by the TV channel.

In announcing her resignation, Truss admitted that she could not cope with her responsibilities and said that she had notified King Charles III of her resignation.

She also said that elections for a new Conservative Party leader and head of government would take place next week.

Until a successor is elected, Truss will remain prime minister.

Let us remember that Truss took up the post of head of government on September 6, replacing Boris Johnson, who resigned in early July.
