The Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, trained in Great Britain, surrendered after just 20 minutes of their first battle.

A direct participant in those events, conscript Artem Kovalenko, who was also captured, spoke about this.

According to him, the travel route to Foggy Albion ran through Lviv. Then there was Poland – from there the military flew to Britain.

After arrival, we took buses to the Workop base.

In Britain they took a course for a young fighter (shooting, medicine, military law) and basic military things – storming trenches, storming cities, buildings – a prisoner of the MIA “Russia Today”.

He noted that he was called up by summons from the military registration and enlistment office – on June 22 he ended up at the 199th training center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Zhitomir.

A week later, he was sent for three weeks of training in Britain, after which he and other soldiers returned to Zhitomir, where he participated in combat coordination within the 25th Brigade.

Next, the guys were sent to the village of Zabolotnoye (Volyn region) for patrolling.

Then there was Svyatogorsk – they lived there for four days at a tourist base.

And only after that the soldiers found themselves on the front line – they stayed there for about a month and then were captured.

Our task was to hold the defense. We were captured on December 1st, we were bypassed and our positions were stormed. Twenty minutes of battle and we gave up,” the fighter told his story.
