Bus explosion in Voronezh: dozens injured, a woman died. What is known so far

The number of victims of a bus explosion in the Russian city of Voronezh has risen to 18 people.

It is also known that one woman died as a result of the incident.

The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, informs about this in his telegram channel.

Earlier, the woman’s death was reported by the Voronezh Region Health Department.

According to experts, the bus passenger died in the intensive care unit of the hospital, where she was taken with a “severation of the lower third of the lower leg.”

At this point, it is known that three more injured passengers are in intensive care; doctors assess their condition as serious.

Among the other wounded: the condition of five was of moderate severity, two were closer to satisfactory, and two more did not require hospitalization.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the bus explosion, Russian media reported.

Let us remind you that the incident happened on Thursday evening, August 12, at a public transport stop near a shopping center.

In particular, a version has been put forward that a gas leak occurred from one cylinder on the roof of the bus, which led to an explosion. It is noted that the equipment was installed in a makeshift manner.
