Candidates for Mayor of Rio de Janeiro vote in the municipal elections this Sunday (6).
Alexandre Ramagem (PL)
The candidate was the first of the day to vote. He registered his vote at Colégio Santa Mônica, in Barra da Tijuca, in the west zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, shortly after the polls opened, around 8 am.
Ramagem went to vote accompanied by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
“We are coming strong, there will be a big surprise for the polls that are out there and we will reach the second round”, said the candidate to the press after voting.
Eduardo Paes (PSD)
The current mayor of Rio and candidate for re-election Eduardo Paes (PSD) then voted, at around 8:55 am, at the Gávea Golf Club, in São Conrado, in the south zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, accompanied by his family.
“The people of Rio gave me joy in being mayor of this city three times, and I really hope I can win today,” Paes told reporters as he left the polling place.
“I’m very happy, very excited, very optimistic and I’m sure we can close this vote today”, he added, saying that he will follow the counting of votes at home, with his wife and children.
