CentralAsia: China executed officials involved in the theft of coal from Mongolia

Chinese officials involved in the theft of coal in Mongolia were subject to capital punishment by decision of the authorities.

This was reported on Monday, December 5, by the CentralAsia news portal.

“The Chinese side executed the officials involved in the theft of this coal, the Chinese side sent the names of the Mongolian politicians involved in this matter to Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyuun-Erdene,” the report said.

For three days, demonstrations have continued in the capital of Mongolia related to reports of large-scale theft of 6.5 tons of coal, the value of which is estimated at $1.8 billion.

Several thousand people came out to the square in front of the Government House in Ulaanbaatar, and their sentiments are becoming more radical every day.

The protesters demand that the names of Mongolian officials involved in the theft of coal worth such a significant amount be made public.

It is noted that 86% of Mongolian exports go to China, more than half of this volume is coal.
