Children in the United States fell ill with monkeypox

0views

Two cases of monkeypox infection among children have been identified in the United States. Information confirmed by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In both the first and second cases, children are under eight years old. One of them does not have American citizenship. The second lives in California.

The children are currently safe and undergoing treatment, but both cases are reported to be linked to the LGBT community.

Officials claim that the infection occurred due to contact with relatives living together.

In both cases, the children were involved with members of the gay male community.

Experts suspect that the infection was transmitted through household contact.

As is known, most cases of infection in the United States and Europe are observed in men who adhere to non-traditional sexual orientation, i.e., who have sexual intercourse with men.

However, experts do not deny that anyone can become infected with the virus.

This means that the infection can be transmitted either through close personal contact or through bedding or towels.

People don’t end up in each other’s beds unless they live in the same house or family, University of Nebraska Medical Center infectious disease specialist Dr. James Lawler is quoted as saying.
