China allowed families to have three children for the first time since 1979

7views

Chinese authorities have allowed married couples to have three children.

As foreign websites write, the authorities made this decision because the country’s population is aging.

China followed the “one family, one child” policy from 1979 to 2015.

This rule was introduced due to the overpopulation of the country. During these years, only certain social strata of the population were allowed to give birth to a second child.

In 2015, Chinese were allowed to have two children.

However, as a result of this policy, the working population has decreased and the burden on the economy has increased.

In addition, the birth rate in China decreased by 30% in 2020 compared to the previous year.

The authorities hope that allowing three children will improve the labor situation in the country in the future.

If the law on the right to one child is left in force now, then already in 2050 one young Chinese will be forced to support three older ones.
