China allows families to have three children

22views

China’s parliament has allowed citizens to have up to three children.

The authorities decided that the country needed to increase the birth rate.

Since the 1970s, demographics have been carefully monitored as China has become overpopulated. With rare exceptions, only one child was allowed to be raised.

The basis for the birth of a second one was only the good financial situation of the family.

However, this policy produced negative results, and young people stopped getting married. China’s population has aged.

Now the authorities have decided to encourage young parents and are allowed to give birth to up to three children.

The state will introduce financial, tax, insurance, educational and housing benefits for young families with children.

By the way, in 2020 the population of China was 1.41 billion people, of which 18.7% were senior citizens. Moreover, the number of newborns last year was the lowest in 70 years.
