The People’s Liberation Army of China has begun large-scale live-fire exercises.
The events, as Beijing previously announced, are taking place around Taiwan, where US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently visited.
The PRC warned several times that it would respond to this visit with decisive measures. One of these is military exercises.
According to MIA Rossiya Segodnya, with reference to China Central Television, the maneuvers started on August 4 at noon (7 a.m. Belarusian time).
The exercises take place in six locations in the waters around the island. According to the announced plans, they will last until August 7.
In connection with the maneuvers, the Celestial Empire officially warned: aircraft and naval ships should not be in those areas during the exercises (coordinates were published earlier).
