Official Beijing made it clear to Taiwan that its independence would lead to war with China.
At the same time, the latter is ready to create ample opportunities for peaceful reunification with the island.
However, the Celestial Empire will not allow any “separatist activities” in order to gain independence for Taiwan.
This statement was made by Chen Binhua, an employee of the Office of Island Affairs under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, – MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
It is noted that with this speech the official responded to statements previously made by representatives of the Democratic Progressive Party of Taiwan.
In those statements, island politicians expressed their belief that China had no timetable for potential military action against Taiwan.
Mr. Chen warned them: the PRC will not show leniency towards the forces of “Taiwan independence” if they dare to engage in provocations to promote the independence of the island.
“I want to emphasize that Taiwan independence means war,” the civil servant said bluntly.
And then he called on the inhabitants of the island to oppose the ideas of independence and take steps to promote the peaceful development of relations between the parties.
