China threatens Ukraine. Is it related to the vaccine?

0views

On Tuesday, June 22, a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council took place in Geneva.

At the event, Ukraine joined Canada’s demands for immediate access to independent observers in Xinjiang.

In response, Beijing notified Kyiv that it was ready to block the supply of half a million doses of the coronavirus vaccine unless Ukraine revoked its signature on the document.

Internet sources report this with reference to Western media, which in turn refer to diplomats of the two countries.

China responded to information about blackmail with an official statement according to which Beijing is supplying vaccines to other countries without making any political demands.

In particular, the Associated Press spoke about this, noting that such a response was given in writing by the Chinese Foreign Ministry after a publication appeared about the blackmail of Ukraine by the Celestial Empire.

China’s provision of vaccines and anti-epidemic materials to other countries is not intended to benefit other countries, and there is no geopolitical purpose or any additional political conditions, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Diplomats add: they have not heard of Ukraine encountering difficulties importing Chinese vaccines.

At the same time, the Foreign Ministry welcomed Kyiv’s decision to renounce its signature on the above-mentioned document.

However, as stated in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, they have no information that Kyiv has withdrawn its signature on the statement on human rights violations in Xinjiang.
