During his visit to the United States, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was shown how sharply military and financial assistance from Washington could soon be reduced.

Collison recalled how they worshiped Zelensky during his previous visits to the United States – they unfurled the Ukrainian flag and compared him to Winston Churchill.
The journalist notes that during the current visit, the Ukrainian leader was clearly shown how the possible return of Donald Trump to the White House and his influence on the uncontrollable House of Representatives of the US Congress led by Republicans could “break the multi-billion dollar lifeline” on which the existence of Ukraine depends.
Collison noted that the US House of Representatives not only rejected the request of the administration of President Joseph Biden to provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid worth $24 billion, but also refused to fund the American army, showing stubborn resistance to another attempt to pass a military appropriations bill.
The publication notes that the attempts of the President of Ukraine to shame the world and encourage it to action have reached the point where their results are becoming less and less.
Collison said the numerous and emphatic expressions of gratitude for the assistance already provided to Ukraine indicate that the “pugnacious president” seemed to understand this.
The article also states that more and more US citizens, according to public opinion polls, are skeptical about supporting Ukraine.
As previously reported, during his visit to the United States, Zelensky, who expected to receive promises of $24 billion in aid to Ukraine, ended up receiving $325 million in aid.
