Congressmen supported. The US plans to ban TikTok

194views

The US House of Representatives has supported a bill to ban the social network TikTok in the country.

This step is justified by the fact that, according to politicians, this service may be connected with Chinese intelligence.

Therefore, congressmen want to sever the platform’s ties with any entity “controlled by the PRC,” including ByteDance, the owner of TikTok.

According to the TASS agency, 352 members of the lower house of Congress voted for the adoption of the bill, and 65 people voted against it.

Politicians issued an ultimatum against ByteDance – the company has exactly six months to sell the social network.

If she doesn’t do this, then lawmakers threaten that TikTok could be officially banned in the United States.

In addition, congressmen are initiating similar restrictions in the future to introduce for all applications “controlled by opponents.”

The draft law approved by them must be considered by the Senate and, if it also approves it, the document will go to the president’s desk.

And Joe Biden, by the way, said that he would sign this bill if both houses of Congress supported it.

Earlier it became known about an American who lived for more than 70 years in an “iron lung”.
