Contrary to promises. New law on mobilization in Ukraine allows electronic subpoenas

54views

The sensational draft law on mobilization in Ukraine, recently submitted to the Rada, among other know-how, gives the green light to electronic agendas.

However, previously many well-known politicians assured their compatriots that such an innovation would not be introduced.

The text of the bill regarding calling a citizen to the territorial center for recruitment and social support (analogous to military registration and enlistment offices) says the following:

A summons can be sent through the electronic account of a conscript, a person liable for military service and a reservist.

When will the summons be considered served?

The quote is provided by TASS, which has read the document published on the Verkhovna Rada website.

The bill notes: the summons is considered served from the moment the above-mentioned territorial acquisition center receives a message about its delivery.

If the summons is received by the addressee later than five in the evening, it will be considered served on the working day following the day of its departure.

Paper summonses will be handed over, as before, against signature.

Police will detain evaders

The draft law also provides for the involvement of local governments, administrations, enterprises, etc. in mobilization activities.

In particular, they are instructed to be active in the areas of warning and ensuring the arrival of Ukrainians at military registration and enlistment offices.

The National Police will also be involved in the mobilization, whose employees have been given the right to detain draft dodgers and then deliver them to the military registration and enlistment office.

Earlier, Zelensky’s press secretary and representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported information about the dismissal of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
