Osasco (SP) councilor Ana Paula Rossi (PL) died, aged 55, on Sunday night (9). She had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s cancer in July and had been undergoing treatment since then. The information was confirmed through a note published on social media.

Rossi, who was also president of the Liberal Party in the city of Greater São Paulo, was in his third term in the City Council. Daughter of the former mayor of Osasco Francisco Rossi, she held the Secretariat of Social Assistance and Promotion in 2003, 2005 and 2006, and the Secretariat of Education in 2017.

In 2008, Rossi was elected councilor for the first time. In the following municipal elections, in 2012, she was a candidate for vice-mayor on the ticket headed by former mayor Celso Giglio, who ended up defeated at the polls at the time.

In 2016, she was again elected councilor, being reappointed to the position four years later. Rossi was also leader of the Rogério Lins (Podemos) administration between 2021 and 2023.

She would run for a new term as councilor in this year’s elections. Rossi was married and mother of three children. The wake will take place this Monday (9), from 8am to 4pm, at the Municipal Theater of Osasco, and the burial will take place at 5pm at the Bela Vesta Cemetery.
