Court suspends case against Anderson Torres, which could dismiss him from the PF

The Federal Court of the Federal District suspended, this Tuesday (8), the administrative disciplinary process of the Federal Police Internal Affairs against the former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres, who is a PF delegate.

The decision was made by federal judge Luciana Raquel Tolentino de Moura, from the 7th Court of the Federal District.

In the suspension, the judge points out that “without delving into the merits of the culpability of the person being investigated, it appears that the testimony of the general delegate of the PF, who had represented the arrest of the author for the same facts, was privileged, to the detriment of several other favorable testimonies to the investigated, which were almost completely ignored, which adds more suspicion to the entire commission.”

The judge also says that evidence in the case was ignored by the commission.

“Another piece of evidence completely ignored by the Judging Committee was the federal intervenor’s report, which concluded that there was no omission on the part of the management body. Ricardo Cappelli, then federal intervener, prepared a report on the events that occurred on January 8, 2023, aiming to analyze and clarify the actions taken by public security in the DF”, says the decision.

And it ends with the granting of the suspension request presented by Torres’ defense.

In July, the former minister’s defense had already asked the Federal Police Internal Affairs Department to suspend the administrative process against him, alleging partiality on the part of the president of the process, delegate Clyton Eustáquio Xavier.

Torres is the target of lawsuits that could lead to his dismissal from the Federal Police, where he has been a career delegate for 20 years, for having, in theory, “tarnished the image of the institution” after his own arrest.

Wanted by CNNthe PF said that it does not comment on judicial decisions.
