Denmark’s transfer of American F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine has been postponed for about six months.

This was reported by the Danish publication Berlingske with reference to the Danish Ministry of Defense.

Why is the F-16 delivery delayed?

According to the data, it was initially planned to deliver the first fighters around the New Year, but the delivery was postponed to the second quarter.

The Danish Ministry of Defense explains the delay by Ukraine’s unpreparedness to use the F-16, but specific reasons are not given.

Among other things, we are talking about completing the training of Ukrainian personnel, – stated in the response of the Danish Defense Ministry to the publication’s question about the reasons for the delay.

The Danish Ministry of Defense noted that the training schedule is influenced by a number of factors, such as technical and weather conditions.

In addition, the international coalition continues to work on creating the necessary logistics and infrastructure in Ukraine, the department added.

Currently, six Ukrainian pilots are being trained in Denmark to fly the F-16.

Denmark promised to transfer 19 F-16 fighters to Ukraine, the Netherlands – 42. The head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense, Kaisa Ollongren, stated that the first aircraft would be transferred in 2024.

Kyiv expressed hope of receiving the F-16 in the first half of 2024. Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that this would happen no earlier than the spring.

Earlier, the number of earthquake victims in Japan reached 110 people.
