The German publication Der Tagesspiegel writes that German authorities fear losing the Nord Stream gas pipelines forever.
The article states that both Nord Stream pipes and one of Nord Stream 2 will remain unusable forever if they are not repaired quickly.

German police are strengthening control over German territorial waters, especially critical infrastructure routes.
Protection of the coastal areas of the Baltic and North Seas will also be strengthened.
