Details of the crash of an Afghan military plane in Uzbekistan have become known

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan revealed details of the crash of the Embraer-314 aircraft of the Afghan Air Force in the Sherabad district of the Surkhandarya region.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the day before, 3 Afghan military aircraft Embraer-314 requested permission to land at Khanabad airport in Karshi.

Accompanied by two MiG-29s of the Uzbek Air Force, the Afghan planes were redirected to Termez airport.

During the flight, a MiG-29 and an Embraer-314 collided. The planes crashed in the Sherabad district of the Surkhandarya region.

Both pilots managed to eject and land using parachutes.

Let us recall that it was previously reported that an Afghan military plane was shot down by Uzbek air defense while attempting to violate the border and that the pilots injured in the crash were hospitalized in serious condition.

Military flight from Afghanistan

After the Taliban seized power, military personnel are fleeing en masse from Afghanistan.

According to information from the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan, on August 14-15, 22 Afghan military aircraft and 24 helicopters carrying 585 military personnel illegally crossed the Afghan-Uzbek border.

The aircraft were forced to land at Termez airport.

Another 158 civilians and military from Afghanistan crossed the border with Uzbekistan across the river in the Termez region. Based on these facts, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan opened a criminal case.
