Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister Flávio Dino wrote on his social networks that Alexandre de Moraes, his colleague on the Court, “has the courage and independence necessary to do the right thing”.
Dino’s publication took place amid protests against Morares on September 7th, which took place on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo.
In the post, Dino shared a photo of the two talking with the following phrases:
“Defending a Just and Democratic Homeland, in accordance with the Constitution, is the work I dedicate myself to at the Supreme Court, where I learn from masters and friends like ALEXANDRE DE MORAES. He is a judge who has the courage and independence necessary to do the right thing. That’s what truly matters.”
Moraes participated, during the morning, in the civic-military ceremony in Brasília of the Independence of Brazil alongside President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), government ministers, representatives of the National Congress and the president of the Supreme Court, Luís Roberto Barroso.
In São Paulo, protesters gathered on September 7th on Avenida Paulista for the act called by Bolsonaro supporters against the STF minister.
The event, organized by pastor Silas Malafaia, was attended by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), among other politicians.
