While refueling, a plane crashed over the Mediterranean Sea, resulting in the death of five American military personnel.
It is known that the death of the military personnel was the result of the crash of a military aircraft performing a training flight over the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea.
This statement was made by representatives of the European Command (EUCOM) of the US Armed Forces, as reported by the portal “HERE NEWS”.
While conducting routine refueling as part of military training, an American military aircraft carrying five military personnel crashed in the Mediterranean Sea. – EUCOM informed.
According to them, all five military personnel on board the plane died.
And they added: search and rescue operations began immediately after the crash.
This operation also involved military aircraft and American warships.
Currently, the competent authorities are conducting an investigation to establish the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
In turn, the Pentagon noted that it was not a plane that crashed during a training flight, but a helicopter.
But before that, the department notified of an “extraordinary situation” during a training flight on November 10, as a result of which the plane crashed.
The flight was carried out solely for training purposes, there were no indications of hostile actions, EUCOM clarified.
