Yesterday, December 11, it became known that the Polish Sejm passed a vote of no confidence in the government of Mateusz Morawiecki.

A little later, news arrived that parliamentarians wanted to see Donald Tusk as head of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The majority of Seimas deputies voted for this man, who had already served as prime minister (from 2007 to 2014).

In addition, Tusk once worked as the chairman of the European Council, as well as as the head of the European People’s Party.

Voting results

248 deputies voted for this very famous politician to once again become Prime Minister of Poland.

201 parliamentarians spoke against, – TASS with reference to Gazeta Wyborcza.

After the voting results were announced, Tusk thanked all Polish women and men for the “wonderful day.”

Not for me, but for all those who, over the years, deeply believed that things would get better and that we would drive away the darkness and evil. This happened thanks to you,” he said.

It is noted that during the speech of the newly elected prime minister, the leader of the former ruling Law and Justice party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, broke through to the podium.

This citizen, without ceremony regarding the choice of words, notified those present that they had elected a “German agent” as head of the Cabinet of Ministers.

What’s next

According to the Polish Constitution, Donald Tusk must be sworn in by the country’s President Andrzej Duda.

And Tusk, in turn, will have to form his own government, which will also be sworn in by the head of state.

By the way, the new prime minister not so long ago promised to resolve the problem of blocking the border with Ukraine by Polish truckers.

Earlier, Reuters reported that the protest of truck drivers from Poland complicated the supply of weapons to Kyiv.
