Dozens of people died in Istanbul: a high-rise building burned

A terrible incident happened in the Turkish city of Istanbul. There, a fire in a multi-storey building killed dozens of people.

According to the latest data, at least 25 victims of the fire are already known.

Previously, the media, as new information became available, reported several deaths, then ten, and later 15 victims.

It is known that the fire occurred in a residential building located in the center of Istanbul (Sisli district), – MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

From the details, the Turkish press indicates that the fire raged in a nightclub on the first floor of a 16-story building.

The premises of this entertainment establishment were undergoing renovation work, so it was temporarily closed.

If not for this, then, as the publications write, the number of victims could have been greater. Mostly the workers who carried out the repairs died.

It is also noted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan found out the details of the incident in a telephone conversation with Interior Minister Ali Erlikaya.

Please note that in addition to the dead, there were injured. In particular, there are three people in the hospital who were seriously injured in the fire.

Previously, in Finland there was a fire attack right at a school: 3 teenagers were injured.
