In the Sea of ​​Marmara there was a collision between dry cargo ships carrying grain coming from Russia and Ukraine.

There were no casualties and no environmental damage was recorded.

What happened

According to the department, the emergency occurred near the island of Marmara in the Sea of ​​Marmara.

The 122-meter-long bulk carrier HAJE HALIMEH, which was carrying wheat and was heading to Valencia in Spain from the port of Izmail in Ukraine, collided with the 169-meter bulk carrier ASOMATOS, which was transporting grain from the Russian port of Caucasus to Ashdod in Israel.

The first cargo ship flies under the Comoros flag, the second under the Panamanian flag.

The department clarified that no people were injured and no environmental damage was recorded.
