Foreign ministers of the North Atlantic Alliance countries will inspect Ukraine’s preparations for joining NATO in November.

This information was announced on July 13 by Polish President Andrzej Duda at a meeting of the National Security Council.

What Duda said

The President of Poland convened the Security Council to inform about the results of the Vilnius NATO summit.

Speaking about the fact that Ukraine failed to achieve an invitation to the alliance, Duda noted that Kyiv and its allies managed to win back other elements, namely the tasking procedure against Ukraine.

That is, assessments of the state’s preparation for joining NATO, – explained the head of the Polish state.

According to Duda, the final documents of the Vilnius summit state that the tasking procedure will be carried out by the foreign ministers, and their next meeting is scheduled for November.

We expect that the first task will be held in November, – said the Polish leader.

Let us recall that at the Vilnius summit a package of multi-year support for Ukraine consisting of three elements was approved.

According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the package includes a plan for multi-year support for Ukraine to achieve compatibility with NATO, the abolition of the Membership Action Plan, i.e., simplifying the process of the country joining the alliance, and the creation of the Ukraine-NATO Council.

According to Stoltenberg, NATO leaders confirmed that Ukraine will join the alliance when the allies decide that the conditions have been met.
