Today, December 17, early parliamentary elections are being held in Serbia.

Thus, a new list of Assembly deputies will soon be published.

Voting began at 7 a.m. local time (09:00 Belarusian time).

Polling stations are due to close today at 20:00 local time (22:00 Belarus time).

The total number of people eligible to vote exceeds 6 million.

Over 2.8 thousand candidates are vying for 250 seats in the unicameral parliament, – reports MIA “”.

In order for a political force to enter the Assembly, it must show a result of at least 3 percent.

Campaign favorites

Social polls show that three political forces are vying for a significant number of seats in Serbia’s highest legislative body.

We are talking about the coalition “Aleksandar Vucic – Serbia does not dare to stop”, the bloc “Serbia against violence” and the coalition “Ivica Dacic – Prime Minister of Serbia”.

In the parliamentary elections held in the European state last spring, the coalition supporting the current head of the Serbian state, Vucic, won a landslide victory. Almost 45 percent of voters who came to the polling stations voted for this political force.

Earlier, Vučić dissolved the Serbian parliament.
