The world continues to be shaken by strong earthquakes. After a terrible incident in Taiwan, disaster struck the United States.
In particular, the multimillion-dollar metropolis of New York shook – local residents say that “buildings were shaking.”
The epicenter of the tremors, the strength of which was assessed by the US Geological Survey at 4 and 4.8 points, was recorded in the state of New Jersey, located near New York.
According to experts, the epicenter of one of the earthquakes (the last one) was located 7 kilometers from the Gladstone region of the named state.
The outbreak lay at a depth of 9.4 km, – TASS citing the American Geological Survey.
New York State Governor Kathy Hochul said there was no information about damage from the aftershock.
Before this, a stronger earthquake occurred near New York City – the magnitude was 4.8.
New Jersey shook again – the source of the “tremor” lay at a depth of 1 km, five kilometers from the city of Lebanon.
According to Kathy Hochul, this earthquake was the largest on the East Coast in the last century.
As already noted, tremors were felt by residents of many areas of New York, including Manhattan and the Bronx.
Due to a natural disaster, a meeting of the UN Security Council (the organization’s building is located in New York) was interrupted.
The White House said that US President Joe Biden was informed about the attack.
Previously, an explosion occurred in Taiwan, the power of which was equal to the force of the explosion of 32 nuclear bombs.
