Egypt refused to buy Ukrainian wheat

53views

The Egyptian authorities terminated the contract for the purchase of 240,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat.

The supplier companies Nibulon and Inerco were released from their obligations under previously concluded contracts by a decision of the country’s Main Directorate for the Supply of Goods.

About this MIA “Russia Today” with reference to the Reuters agency, which in turn refers to its own sources.

It is noted that the parties signed the contracts mentioned in December 2021. They stated the price – from 346 to 360 dollars per 1 ton.

Due to current events in Ukraine, wheat was not delivered to Egypt.

Let us recall that on July 22, an agreement was signed in Istanbul on the abolition of restrictions on the export of Russian food.

There, Moscow pledged to provide assistance on the issue of exporting Ukrainian grain.

This was confirmed by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, saying that the Russian side is ready to make every effort to ensure that grain from Ukraine reaches world markets.
