3views

In just one day in the south of Egypt in the province of Aswan, hundreds of local residents suffered from scorpion stings.

There were no casualties among the population, but medical assistance was required in 503 cases. At the moment, all patients have been given antidote and have already been discharged from hospitals.

As it turned out, the torrential rains and hail that hit Aswan the day before were to blame.

According to the local Ministry of Health, the disaster caused flooding of burrows in which scorpions usually live, which forced the arachnids to flee and seek shelter near residential buildings.

503 citizens in Aswan received an antidote for scorpion stings… there were no deaths from stings, MIA quotes a message from the Egyptian Ministry of Health.

The head of the department said that the country has created a strategic reserve of antidote for scorpion and snake bites.

Moreover, each hospital has its own reserve. In particular, there are another 3,350 doses in stock in hospitals in Aswan province.

Due to dangerous weather conditions in the country, the Ministry of Health has prepared more than 2 thousand ambulances, as well as 48 SUVs to provide assistance to people in distress.

Experts recommend immediately seeking medical help after a scorpion sting.

After an arachnid bite, in addition to pain at the site of the injury, symptoms such as high fever, vomiting, upset stomach, etc. may develop.
