What Erdogan said about Finland joining NATO

Erdogan said that Finland has taken concrete steps to fulfill the terms of the memorandum necessary to join the alliance.

We are ready and have decided to begin the process of ratifying Finland’s accession to NATOsaid the Turkish head of state, expressing confidence that Finland will play an active role in ensuring the security of the alliance.

The Turkish leader also said that a vote in parliament on the ratification of Finland’s entry into the alliance could take place before the national elections scheduled for May 14.

I hope that we will resolve this issue before the elections, – Erdogan added.
