What Erdogan warned about

According to the head of the Turkish state, if Helsinki and Stockholm do not fulfill Ankara’s conditions regarding countering terrorist organizations, the process of Finland and Sweden joining NATO will be frozen.

Türkiye has a very clear position, everything else is their business,” the Turkish leader emphasized.

Let us recall that at the end of June at the NATO summit in Madrid, the foreign ministers of Finland, Sweden and Turkey signed a memorandum removing obstacles to the accession of the northern countries to NATO.

The memorandum stipulates that Helsinki and Stockholm will establish cooperation with Ankara in the field of countering terrorism, in particular, the PKK, its branches and the “FETO organization,” which are considered terrorist organizations in Turkey.
