Europe is doomed to a difficult winter due to gas shortages

31views

A representative of the PGNiG concern predicted a difficult winter for Western European countries amid a gas shortage.

The deputy head of the company noted that currently gas storage reserves in some countries are at record lows, and prices for blue fuel will not fall until spring.

The high cost of gas and the scarcity of the resource could cause a difficult winter for Europe, says Przemyslaw Waclawski.

As you probably know, demand in Europe is now much higher than supply. There is a risk that the winter will be difficult,” MIA quotes the words of the deputy head of the Polish energy concern PGNiG.

Vaslavsky noted that in this regard, Poland is ready for the upcoming cold weather – storage facilities are almost 97% full.

How European countries deal with the energy crisis depends on several factors.

According to Vaslavsky, a lot depends on how severe this winter will be. In severe frosts, local problems cannot be avoided, but “there will be no blackout.”

No less important is how much gas Gazprom will pump into the underground gas storage facility. The available stock does not match the balance between supply and demand.

The expert believes that only “spot gas supplies from the United States” can help in this situation.

The Polish company believes that the price of gas will not change until at least March-April next year.
