Europe is tired of Ukraine and will not fight for it – AU

2views

American Conservative journalist Doug Bandow reported bad news for Kyiv officials.

This gentleman assures: the people of Europe are tired of financing Ukraine and will not fight for it if it comes to a real armed confrontation with Russia.

According to him, on the eve of the NATO summit in Lithuania, the United States was visited by prominent political figures from the Old World who support Kyiv’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance.

The columnist assures readers: he was able to talk with some of the high-ranking guests of his country.

During the discussions, Bandow became convinced that Europe was not ready to engage in direct conflict with Russia.

Despite the passionate support for Ukraine that my European interlocutors spoke about, mostly members of national governments and the European Parliament, many admitted that the population of their countries was tired of providing material assistance to Kyiv, – media employee of MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

The journalist went on to say that he had a question: given the opinion expressed by European politicians, will they fight if NATO gets involved in a conflict with the Russian Federation?

The author’s interlocutors heard this question. And, according to him, none of them gave an affirmative answer.

Bandow himself suggests that among all NATO countries, only the United States is ready to directly confront Moscow.

However, there is a nuance here too. The journalist writes that Washington understands the fact that a clash with the Russian Federation is fraught with a real threat of nuclear war, and its country’s politicians will not take a step that could threaten the security of the United States.
