The second reason is possible problems with supplies from the Russian Federation.
Another important circumstance is the high cost of gas (more than $900 per 1000 cubic meters).
The result of all these problems could be a shortage of fuel to heat buildings and generate electricity in Europe.
US State Department spokesman Amos Hochstein made a corresponding statement in an interview with American media.
If the coming winter turns out to be harsh, many European countries will have to buy a lot of raw materials, accepting their current high costs.
At the same time, in some countries it is possible to distribute fuel according to quotas.
Hochstein is confident that if such a situation does arise, then “everyone will notice the problem.”
