Vladimir Zelensky announced that he was submitting a draft law on multiple citizenship to the Verkhovna Rada.
The document will make it possible to grant Ukrainian citizenship to ethnic Ukrainians, except for Russian citizens, as well as to foreigners fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Today I am introducing a key bill to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which will allow the adoption of comprehensive changes to legislation and the introduction of the institution of multiple citizenship, – Zelensky MIA “Russia Today”.
According to him, the law will provide the opportunity to have Ukrainian citizenship for all ethnic Ukrainians, as well as their descendants from different countries of the world, except for citizens of the Russian Federation.
Separately, Zelensky noted that this document provides the opportunity to obtain Ukrainian citizenship for foreigners fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
