On Saturday, August 27, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic addressed the nation. In his speech, he touched on the topic of Russian gas.
According to the head of state, Belgrade buys “blue fuel” from Moscow at a “fantastic price.”
He reminded his compatriots that Serbia consumes 3.2 billion cubic meters of gas.
From Russia, he said, the country receives two billion cubic meters, which is 63-64 percent of “all our needs.”
We are paying 800 million euros, a fantastic price! And for an additional 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas we would have paid 4.8 billion euros if we had bought at current prices,” Vučić, TASS agency.
At the same time, the president pleased the recipients of his message, saying that, fortunately, they managed to buy gas “before this difficult time.”
Otherwise, the president added, Serbia could become bankrupt.
