8views

The fifth flight for the repatriation of Brazilians and their families in Lebanon landed at the São Paulo Air Base at 6:06 am this Monday (14) with 220 passengers, including 10 infants. Two pets were also on the aircraft.

With this group, the government has rescued 1,105 people and 14 pets (10 cats and 4 dogs) since the mission began on October 2.

The expectation is that the KC-30, used by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) for the Raízes do Cedro operation, will take off from São Paulo this Monday (14) to pick up the sixth group in Beirut, Lebanon.

The estimate is that the Brazilian community in Lebanon is 20 thousand people.

Conflicts continue there.

According to the ministry, name checking will be reinforced by telephone to complete flights and avoid problems with cancellations.

Women, children, the elderly and Brazilians not residing in Lebanon are a priority in this rescue. Together with Itamaraty, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, and the Federal Revenue have worked to support passengers upon arrival in Brazil.

On Friday (11), the federal government published a provisional measure that opened credit of R$80 million for the Air Force command to guarantee the logistics of the operation.

FAB has also sent 43 tons of Brazilian donations to Lebanon, such as basic food baskets and hospital supplies.

Itamaraty daily reiterates its warning for Brazilians still in Lebanon to follow the security guidelines of local authorities and, if possible, try to leave the territory by their own means.
