Finland is preparing to stop Russian gas supplies

40views

The Finnish authorities, as well as local companies and organizations, are preparing to stop supplies of Russian gas to the country.

The decision is due to the fact that the local regulator, represented by the Gasum company, must decide whether to accept or not accept the conditions put forward by Gazprom.

In other words, Finnish Gasum must give an answer to Gazprom whether it is ready to pay for fuel in Russian rubles, and there are 20 days left to make a decision, reports MIA “” with reference to Helsingin Sanomat.

According to Finnish experts, the risk of being left without Russian gas is real.

The media refer to a statement by the country’s authorities, who, without undue optimism, recognize the existing gas infrastructure as insufficient to replace it with Russian energy resources.

As a result of the failure, a “gas shortage” may arise, which will inevitably be followed by problems for industrialists.

According to experts, Finnish industrial enterprises use 2/3 of gas.

The largest consumers of blue fuel include companies in the chemical and forestry industries.

However, last Wednesday, local media, citing the words of the Minister of State Property and Relations with the EU, Tytti Tuppurainen, reported that Finland does not plan to pay for Russian gas in rubles.

Let us remind you that on April 27, Gazprom suspended gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland.
