Finland will keep its border with Russia closed until mid-April

56views

Finland has extended the closure of land border crossings on the border with Russia until April 14.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Finland informed about this on February 8.

Why Finland extended border closure

Since November last year, the Finnish authorities, against the backdrop of an uncontrolled flow of refugees, began to introduce restrictions on crossing the border with Russia.

According to the previous government decision, the border was closed until February 11.

We have not noticed any changes in Russia’s activities, – the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Finland quotes a statement from the head of the department, Marie Rantanen.

According to her, there are hundreds, if not thousands of refugees in the border area waiting to get into Finland.

Previously, the United States wants to force the European Union to pay for American weapons for Ukraine.
