Operations at the facility were suspended on June 3 after a turbine malfunction was discovered. An investigation is underway and the reasons are being clarified.

Electricity production at Olkiluoto 3 was interrupted at 11:41 today due to a turbine malfunction. The issue is currently being investigated,” comments the station management and the Teollisuuden Voima company.

It is specified that the energy facility was put into commercial operation on April 16, 2023.

Today, Olkiluoto 3 NPP is the youngest power plant in Finland.

It is clarified that before the discovery of a malfunction in the operation of the turbine, the station was operating normally.

It is also known that the incident did not affect nuclear safety.
