Fire opened in Istanbul’s Catholic Church, killing one person

An armed attack took place in a Catholic church in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

The information that fire was opened in the temple was confirmed by the head of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ali Erlikaya.

It is also known that as a result of the shooting that occurred on January 28 at about 11:40 (the time coincides with Belarusian), one person was killed.

Citizen S.T., who was during prayer in the Church of St. Mary in the Sariyer district, was subjected to an armed attack by two persons and, unfortunately, died, – Minister of TASS.

The head of the law enforcement agency added that an investigation into the attack is underway and the search for the criminals is underway.

In turn, the spokesman for the Justice and Development Party, Omer Celik, noted that the attackers attacked a Turkish citizen.

We strongly condemn the armed attack on one of our citizens during a service at St. Mary’s Church in Sariyer district of Istanbul,” he said.

According to reports, two masked men used firearms during the attack and then fled.

Earlier, an emergency plane crashed in Antalya, Turkey: screams were heard in the luggage compartment.
