A 12-year-old boy in Kerala died from complications. Local authorities are taking all necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus. The situation in 9 districts is under control.

Following the death of the 12-year-old, local authorities have begun monitoring the situation in nine districts bordering Kerala.

There are checkpoints at the entrances to the state where specialists inspect citizens in an attempt to prevent the spread of the disease.

In the state itself, the local population is informed about the outbreak of the disease almost on an individual basis.

The government sent specialists from the National Center for Disease Control to the region.

The task ahead is to establish all contacts of patients infected with the most dangerous virus. These people will be quarantined.

Let us recall that the Nipah virus was discovered in representatives of the local bat population at the end of June this year by specialists

National Institute of Virology of India.

The bat virus NiV (Nipah), when infected in humans, causes respiratory diseases and, in some cases, inflammation of the brain.

WHO calls the virus the most dangerous to date. This is not the first time an outbreak of the disease has been recorded. There is an outbreak known in West Bengal in 2001 and 2007, and in Kerala in 2018 and 2019.
