0views

In the United States, the first verdict was rendered in the case of the storming of the Capitol. The hearing ended on the eve of June 23. One of the supporters of former US President Donald Trump appeared in the dock.

In total, there are almost 500 people involved in this case, and the first verdict can be called an exception.

The verdict was passed against 49-year-old American Anna Morgan Lloyd. She cooperated with the investigation and admitted guilt for participating in the action.

In court, she admitted that “the events of that day became a wild manifestation of cruelty” and now she is ashamed.

Repentance and cooperation with the investigation reduced the sentence. Lloyd was sentenced to a suspended sentence of 3 years and 120 hours of community service.

In addition, she must pay a fine of $500.

Otherwise, the woman could go to prison for up to 6 months. However, the court took into account that she was not noticed in actions of a violent nature, did not organize riots and did not participate in the preparation for them.

The trial is taking place in the District of Columbia metropolitan area. Local media report that the rest of the accused should not count on the humanism of the court.

Participants in the action will not be able to avoid actual prison sentences.

Let us remind you that the storming of the Capitol took place on January 6 of this year. Trump supporters tried to prevent the certification of the presidential election results.

5 people died during the protest.
