On Friday, March 10, 2023, Xi Jinping made history for his country by becoming the first President of the People’s Republic of China to be re-elected to a third term.

He was elected for the next five years by delegates to the first session of the 14th National People’s Congress (Parliament).

Xi Jinping was also elected head of the Central Military Council of the People’s Republic of China, – TASS agency.

By the way, five years ago political scientists were talking about Xi Jinping’s intentions to seek a third term.

In that year, 2018, amendments were made to the Constitution of the Celestial Empire, according to which the same person can hold the post of head of state an unlimited number of times (previously – no more than two 5-year terms).

Not so long ago, in October last year, following the results of the Congress of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping was re-elected for a third term as its leader – Secretary General of the CPC Central Committee.

In June 2023, for the first time in Chinese history, the head of the PRC, re-elected for a third term, will turn 70 years old.
