The current President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, sees a woman as his successor as head of state.

If this actually happens, then Claudia Sheinbaum will become the first representative of the fair sex in the country’s history to serve as president.

Obrador justifies his statement with the results of the election of a candidate from the pro-government coalition “Let’s continue to make history together.”

As the TASS agency, based on the results of counting 25% of the votes, Senora Sheinbaum is in the lead with 57.3%.

By the way. The leader of the MORENA party (Spanish for “brunette”) also spoke about Sheinbaum’s victory in the presidential elections.

“Today is a day of glory because the people of Mexico have freely and democratically decided that Claudia Sheinbaum will become the first female president in the 200 years of our independent republic,” Obrador said.

In connection with this event, he congratulated all compatriots “who were lucky enough to live in these stellar times of pride and transformation.”

According to Mexico’s National Electoral Institute, Sheinbaum’s main competitor, a representative of the opposition alliance Strength and Heart for Mexico, is gaining 30% of the vote.

In third place with 10% is the candidate from the “Civic Movement” Jorge Alvarez Maines.

Earlier it became known that the Maldives wants entry to Israel using Israeli passports.
