For the first time in YouTube history: a video with a children’s song has collected over 10 billion views
The popular video service YouTube claims an absolute record in its history.
We are talking about video views. The record-breaking video was a video produced by Pinkfong (“Pink Phone”) from South Korea.
It’s called Baby Shark Dance. Since its appearance on the service, it has collected over 10 billion views.
YouTube representatives announced this on Thursday, January 13, on the Twitter social network.
Today we celebrate our historic achievement. “Baby Shark Dance” became the first video in history to reach 10 billion views on YouTube, the company said in a statement.
By the way, this video was filmed in more than a hundred variations in 11 languages.
The main characters of the video are a boy and a girl – they sing about a baby shark and his family, while simultaneously performing an exercise dance. Animation footage appears in the background.
This video was first published on YouTube in 2016. For several years, the video has surpassed the most popular music videos in the number of views, including Despacito (Luis Fonsi).
It is worth noting that the Baby Shark Dance video is also recorded by the Guinness Book of Records as the most viewed video on YouTube.
