Former commander-in-chief of the US Armed Forces in Europe, retired General Ben Hodges, said that without American help, Ukraine would have already been defeated.

The general made this statement in an interview with the American television channel CBS.

What Hodges said about US aid to Ukraine

CBS asked Hodges what might have happened to Ukraine without Washington’s help.

The former commander-in-chief of the US Armed Forces in Europe responded that Ukraine would have already been defeated.

Without such help, I think Ukraine would probably have already been captured and defeated. Definitely would have lost more – said the general.

He also said that the administration of US President Joseph Biden could not properly explain to American citizens what their taxes are used for in Ukraine.

As reported, the White House, which has already spent more than $110 billion on assistance to Ukraine, has asked Congress for an additional $24 billion for the last quarter of this year.

Earlier, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said that the greatest contribution to military assistance to Ukraine is made by the United States, Poland, Great Britain and Romania.
