Former US President confused Ukraine with Iraq and announced a “brutal” invasion

39views

Former President of the United States of America George W. Bush made a slip of the tongue that caused a strong reaction among millions of Internet users.

Most were amused by Mr. Bush’s gaffe. The whole point is that he confused the two countries.

In a public speech, the ex-head of state made a statement about the “unjustified and cruel” invasion… of Iraq, – MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

He said this when he gave a speech at a Bush Institute event dedicated to election issues.

The incident was preceded by Bush’s description of the Russian electoral system, which, in his opinion, became one of the main reasons for the escalation in Ukraine.

The result is a lack of checks and balances… and the decision of one person to launch a completely unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq, that is, of Ukraine,” said George W. Bush.

And then he added: “To Iraq too,” which caused laughter among the citizens present at the event.

Trying to justify himself for the slip, the ex-president hinted at his age – “seventy-five,” he said, which again amused the audience.
