Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Farion, whose life had been attempted the day before, died in a hospital in Lvov.
It is known that the shooter waited for several days for an opportune moment in the courtyard of Farion’s house. He managed to escape from the crime scene.
It’s a shame, but despite all the efforts of the doctors, it was not possible to save Irina Farion. Sincere condolences to the family, friends and students of Irina Dmitrievna,” the head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maxim Kozitsky, quotes.
A Ukrainian official announced the death of the ex-deputy in his personal Telegram channel.
The statement also said that a search is underway for the shooter.
It is known that after the assassination attempt, Farion was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. She underwent surgery and was then transferred to intensive care.
But, as the head of the anesthesiology service Natalya Matolinets told Strana.ua, death was the result of cardiac arrest.
